This vocabulary is supporting StatDCAT-AP, a specialisation of the DCAT application profile for European data portals [[DCAT-AP]] for statistical data. The terms defined in this namespace are defined as broad as possible for wider reuse but are scoped to the needs of StatDCAT-AP. All terms in this vocabulary have therefore a strong connection with StatDCAT-AP.
This namespace document was created during the process of aligning the StatDCAT-AP profile with DCAT-AP 3.x and the SEMIC style guide in 2026.

It is under maintenance by the SEMIC action, Interoperable Europe.
This vocabulary has the status Working Draft published at 2026-05-14.
Information about the process and the decisions involved in the creation of this specification are consultable at the Changelog.

|
Class | Dataflow |

|
|
| label | Dataflow | |
| definition | An abstract concept of the Data Sets, i.e. a structure without any data. | |

|
Property | attribute |
|---|---|---|
| URI |
http://data.europa.eu/s1n/attribute
|
|
| label | attribute | |
| definition | a component used to qualify and interpret observed values, e.g. units of measure, any scaling factors and metadata such as the status of the observation (e.g. estimated, provisional). Attribute is a "conceptual" entity that applies to all distribution formats, e.g. in case a dataset is provided both in SDMX and in DataCube. | |

|
| label | data structure definition | |
| definition | Links a statistical dataset to the Data Structure Definition (DSD) that defines its dimensions, attributes, measures, and overall observation structure. | |

Property | dimension |
|---|---|---|
| URI |
http://data.europa.eu/s1n/dimension
|
|
| label | dimension | |
| definition | a component that identifies observations, e.g. the time to which the observation applies , or a geographic region which the observation covers. Dimension is a "conceptual" entity that applies to all distribution formats, e.g. in case a dataset is provided both in SDMX and in DataCube. | |

Property | measure |
|---|---|---|
| URI |
http://data.europa.eu/s1n/measure
|
|
| label | measure | |
| definition | a component that represents the phenomenon being observed. Measure is a "conceptual" entity that applies to all distribution formats, e.g. in case a dataset is provided both in SDMX and in DataCube. | |

|
Property | number of data series |
|---|---|---|
| URI |
http://data.europa.eu/s1n/numSeries
|
|
| label | number of data series | |
| definition | represents the number of distinct time series available in the dataset that contain data. A distinct time series is defined as a unique combination of dimension values (such as country, sex, age, unit of measure, etc.) that has at least one observation value or attribute associated with it - where an attribute may include a flag even in the absence of an actual data value. Time (e.g., year) is treated as one dimension among others, not as a unit of aggregation. | |

Property | unit of measurement |
|---|---|---|
| URI |
http://data.europa.eu/s1n/statUnitMeasure
|
|
| label | unit of measurement | |
| definition | a unit of measurement of the observations in the dataset, for example Euro, square kilometre, purchasing power standard (PPS), full-time equivalent, percentage. Unit of measurement is a "conceptual" entity that applies to all distribution formats, e.g. in the case when a dataset is provided both in SDMX and in Data Cube. | |
